The University of Ballarat Technology Park, located on a 29-hectare site within the Mt Helen Campus of the University of Ballarat, was officially launched in February 1995 as a first step towards implementing a strategic initiative for the region to promote and develop regional technology companies.
The Park has grown over the past few years to have 8 signature building and expects to have over 1500 people working in the Park by the end of this year. We have one of the most successful regional Technology Parks in Australia and this cluster of technology business provides a unique opportunity for regional business and enterprises to excel.
The programs and facilities in our centres are targeted to help technology start up companies succeed. The recent expansion to include other technology in addition to ICT will broaden the base to include Environmental, Biotechnology and also to include Agri-technology as required.

The University of Ballarat Technology Park incorporates the Greenhill Enterprise Centre, one of regional Australia's most progressive early-stage incubators, and the A$3.4m Global Innovation Centre, a new building with a central open networking area, which enables companies to continue expanding without ever leaving the Park, providing intellectual resources, technical facilities, and ties to venture capital.
Major clients at the Ballarat Technology Park include two IBM facilities, including the headquarters of IBM's computing services for South-East Asia, and Victoria's State Revenue Office (SRO), which relocated 40% of its operations from Melbourne CBD to Ballarat Technology Park in 2002. The integration of groups such as Rural Ambulance Victoria and the Conservation Volunteers national office together with the recent Advanced Display Technologies onto the Technology Park brings together a diverse range of companies.
