Driving Directions
Travelling from Melbourne: 110 kilometres / 75 minutes
Directional signs to the University of Ballarat, are located along the way.
- Approaching Ballarat via the Western Highway, prepare to turn left after the Ballarat Exhibition Centre (formerly Great Southern Woolshed). Turn left at the intersection just after the two Service Stations.
- Take the first right hand turn and travel through Warrenheip and follow this road until you come to a T intersection. Turn left and travel approx 300 metres, then take the right hand turn into Yankee Flat Road.
- Travel approx eight kilometres along Yankee Flat Road then make a right hand turn into Gear Avenue. (Along the way you will pass Greenhill road, but do not turn)
- Once in Gear Avenue follow this road, make a right hand turn into University Drive. Stay on University Drive and it will pass the campus, the sporting grounds and tennis courts. Continue travelling on this road as it leaves the University grounds. Ballarat Technology Park management is based at Greenhill Enterprise Centre, just past the 60 km sign on your left.
Returning to Melbourne from Greenhill Enterprise Centre
- Follow University Drive west. Turn left at the round about at Wetlands Drive and then turn left into Gear Avenue at the T intersection.
- Drive east along Gear Avenue for approximately 2 kilometres and turn left at the T intersection into Yankee Flat Road.
- Travel along this road for approximately 8 kilometres until you reach another T Intersection (Yendon Road) turn left again.
- The next turn right is approximately 300 metres along this road. Follow the signs to Melbourne and Warrenheip.
- Follow this road, remembering to note speed limits through Warrenheip, until you reach another T intersection. Turn left towards the freeway. Turn right to return to Melbourne.
Travelling from the west into Ballarat:
- Follow Sturt Street to the Midlands Highway (Doveton St) turn right at the traffic lights and then travel two blocks to the second set of traffic lights, turn left into Eyre Street. This is also the way to Sovereign Hill.
- Follow this Street which becomes Grant St until it meets a roundabout on Main Rd, (just past Sovereign Hill) turn right into Main Road.
- Continue along this road for approximately 7km's until you reach University Drive, turn left at the roundabout. Ballarat Technology Park management is located at Greenhill Enterprise Centre, the second building on your right.
Travelling from Geelong:
- Once in Buninyong turn right at the roundabout into Geelong Road.
- Turn right at the roundabout into University Drive.
- Ballarat Technology Park management is located at Greenhill Enterprise Centre, the second building on your right.
