Emergency Services Telecommunication Authority
The Emergency Services Telecommunication Authority (2006, preceded by ECV) is a statutory authority that has the responsibility for the ongoing delivery of emergency communications to the public and Victoria’s emergency service org anisations. ESTA provides Triple Zero call taking and dispatches event information to the police, fire brigade, ambulance service and the SES. In doing this, it is responsible for the staff, technology and operational advancements that allow our emergency service to arrive at the right place, on time and with vital information and critical support. The purpose built State Emergency Communications Centre located in the Technology Park has redundancy capabilities that surpass many standards on an international level. As a state-of-the-art facility with a 4-star energy rating, ESTA demonstrates its pursuit for excellence in every facet of its business. While there are two pre-existing metropolitan based communication centres, this new facility has provided the ability to take Triple Zero calls from anywhere in the state for any emergency right here at Mt Helen. Although often ‘behind-the-scenes’ ESTA offers world-class service to people in their greatest time of need. www.esta.vic.gov.au
